The Research Projects Are Intended To:
1. Stimulate interstate collaborative research between Alaska, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, and Wyoming․
2. Stimulate research collaborations with outcomes that include competitive research approaches, scientific publications, and successful proposals for non-IDeA federal funding․
3. Investigators are encouraged to take advantage of INBRE Core resources and to include student researchers where appropriate․
Submission, Review, Selection, And Awards Of RAIN Projects
Pre-proposals due: in Embark 10/11/2024 (300-word abstract with Project Leader information).Invitations to submit full proposals: will be sent via email on 10/31/2024. (All pre-proposals will be sent to the PIs for review and selection of the collaborations that will be asked to submit a full proposal.)
Full proposals due: in Embark on 2/7/2025. (11:59 pm PDT)
Earliest Start date: Applicants will be notified via email by 3/14/2025 if they are awarded or not.
Due to requiring all IACUC/IRB approvals and paperwork at time of full proposal submission, we’ll need to ask investigators ONLY if they have any funding updates to disclose.
- This part of the process will be more simplified and move quicker than previous years due to this change.
- All selected/awarded applications need to be sent to NIGMS for administrative review by the INBRE programs who are funding the collaboration.
- Start dates dependent upon NIGMS approval and home-INBRE program start date.
Award Budget:Up to $20,000 in direct costs, per investigator/project, per state․
Award Period: All projects can be approved for up to 2 years ($20,000 total over 2 years). Applicants wishing to allocate the $20,000 budget over two years must submit a budget page for each grant year that allocatesthe funding accordingly.
