The INBRE Student Program provides a broad continuum of research opportunities to generate and enhance a skilled, diverse workforce for Idaho and the nation.

A series of interlocking programs involves all 11 Network institutions and comprises a ‘pipeline to health research careers’ starting from K-12 through post-doctoral and medical student training. Central to the Student Program is mentoring and career advising.

Our programs allow any student in Idaho who has an interest in and talent for biomedical research to find an opportunity to pursue that activity in Idaho. To this end, INBRE provides scientific expertise, current laboratory practices, experimental design, and resources to K-12 teachers and students and progressively-intense academic research programs for undergraduate students, graduate students, post-docs, and medical students. Programs are competitive and students are selected based on academic performance, interest in research, and under-represented status.
