INBRE Virtual Network presentation
November 8, 2022 @ 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Event Navigation
You are welcome to attend (via Zoom) the first INBRE Virtual Network presentation hosted by INBRE at ISU.
Speaker: Dr. Mihail Mitov, Asst. Professor Biology, Idaho College of Osteopathic Medicine, Meridian, ED
Topic: Molecular determinants of muscle cellular biomechanics and bioenergetics
Date: November 8, 2022
Time: 4:00 pm Mountain, 3:00 pm Pacific
Place: Zoom
Meeting ID: 864 9771 0964
Passcode: 460005
More info: This presentation will overview some of the know molecular factors that affect the muscle’s cellular biomechanics and bioenergetics. The main focus will be on the contributors to active and passive muscle tension or stiffness. Additionally, I will address some of the factors of cellular bioenergetics that could affect muscle health or disease (will use the doxorubicin cardiomyopathy as a way to address the role of oxidative stress, oxidative phosphorylation, and glycolysis). I will address some of the current gaps in research capabilities that we face in Idaho and how could improve muscle biology research through institutional collaborations. My goal is to present what might be possible and seek new collaborators that could help the creation of new project lines.
