BALUKOFF, GREELEY AND ROHN TAKE OFFICE, BALUKOFF RE-ELECTED AS PRESIDENT, ORNDORFF AS VICE PRESIDENT
Boise, ID — 09/12/12 — Boise School District’s Board of Trustees welcomed two new Board members and welcomed back a long time Board member during September’s Board meeting. On Monday, September 10th, new Board members Maria Greeley, Troy Rohn and veteran Board member AJ Balukoff were sworn into office. In addition, the Board re-elected Balukoff to serve as Board President, Janet Orndorff to serve as Board Vice President, and Karen Fox to serve as Clerk of the Board, each for the next two years.
Greeley and Rohn filled open seats on the Board vacated by outgoing Trustees Dr. Phil Kelly and Derick O’Neill and Balukoff retained his Board position after the September 4th Board election was cancelled. Balukoff, Greeley and Rohn were the only individuals to file Applications for Candidacy for the three open seats. According to Idaho State statute (IC 33-502B), when the number of candidates matches the number of vacant positions, no election is required.
The Board publicly thanked Kelly and O’Neill for their service to the students of the District, presenting each with an Award of Appreciation for their years of service. O’Neill served as Trustee from 2007 to 2012 and Kelly served from 2006 to 2012. Superintendent Dr. Don Coberly joined Board members in thanking Kelly and O’Neill for their years of service and wishing them well in the future.
