Congratulations to BSU investigators, Drs. Jim Browning (Electrical & Computer Engineering), Sin Ming Loo (Electrical & Computer Engineering) and Ken Cornell (Chemistry & Biochemistry) who recently received a 3-yr NIH Trailblazer Award (R21). This grant will support their work to develop robotic plasma devices to automate the decontamination of pathogens on high touch surfaces, while training undergraduate and graduate students in medical device development. The investigators have a long history of mentoring undergraduate students in the Idaho INBRE program using a Vertically Integrated Projects approach to training transdisciplinary student research teams.
