Summary: My research if focused on understanding the signaling mechanisms responsible for cannabinoid tolerance and dependence.
Minimum Classes: N/A
Projects: The lab is currently working on characterizing a novel cannabinoid type 1 receptor (CB1R) mutant mouse model. This mutant form CB1R lacks residues that are required for the desensitization, internalization, and trafficking of these receptors. The project that INBRE Summer Fellows will work on will involve looking at the development of tolerance to the hypothermic and analgesic effects of cannabinoids as well as the development of dependence, a key component and risk factor for the development of cannabinoid use disorder.
