Summary: The Boise Applied Biomechanics of Infants (BABI) Lab studies how babies move and use their muscles to understand safety in commercial products and healthy musculoskeletal development.

Minimum classes: No classes are required, but a strong interest in biomedical engineering and a positive attitude are necessary!

Projects: As part of the BABI Lab team, you could help conduct human subjects research on babies, develop mechanical testing methods to better evaluate infant products, or use high-tech software to process imaging data. Our current projects focus on infant hip development, suffocation-related infant safety related to body position, and characterization of motor skill development.
