Summary: We work in several different agricultural systems, focusing on soil health, plant/herbivore relationships and efforts to reduce chemical inputs in crop production.
Minimum Courses: General Ecology Agronomy or similar class focused on crop production
Projects:
1. How does the application of biochar to soil affect the incidence and prevalence of plant pathogens in crop production?
2. Studying the evolution of the host/parasite relationships between parasitic nematodes and their insect hosts.
3. Decsribing and evaluating communication among insect-parasitic nematodes.
4. Understanding how various agricultural products influence plant physiology and the herbivores associated with those plants.
