Summary: My research focuses on understanding risk and protective factors on substance use and substance-related problems. Recent research projects look at how sleep and executive functions may increase resilience or vulnerability to substance use in children, adolescents and young adults.

Minimum Classes: Introduction to Psychology

Projects: Potential projects will examine the relationship between executive functioning (e.g., attention control, inhibition) and psychiatric symptoms of children and adolescents. Students will learn different neuropsychological tests that measure executive functioning. They will also learn to analyze the relationship between these tests and health indicators such as psychiatric symptoms.
